LNK Celebrates Mangrove Day in Surabaya in Support of Environmental Sustainability

August 21, 2024

PT Lautan Natural Krimerindo once again shows its commitment to environmental sustainability. On World Mangrove Day last month, we supported and participated in the celebration organized by the Surabaya Government at the city’s Gunung Anyar Mangrove Botanical Garden.

During the event, held on Saturday, June 27, 2024, we invited those in attendance to increase awareness on the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. For that purpose, we partnered with FiberCreme, which is one of the healthy food products produced by PT Lautan Natural Krimerindo.

FiberCreme encouraged the audience of 500 people to start eating nutritious food and meeting fiber needs. In addition to seminars with nutritionists, we also had a cooking demonstration with professional chefs from FiberCreme.

The cooking demonstration got more exciting with the presence of Mrs. Rini Indriyani, wife of Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi. She was asked to take the stage and cook two dishes using FiberCreme, a high-fiber alternative to coconut milk and milk. The two dishes were Creamy Teh Bunga Telang and Tempura Patin Saus Cocktail.

The World Mangrove Day celebration above coincided with the first anniversary of Surabaya’s Gunung Anyar Mangrove Botanical Garden. The celebration ran for 3 days, from Friday, July 26 to Sunday, July 28. In addition to a health education by PT Lautan Natural Krimerindo, the event also included mangrove tree planting activities as a nature conservation effort.

PT Lautan Natural Krimerindo’s commitment to environmental sustainability

This is not the first time we have participated in environmental conservation efforts. As part of our commitment to maintain the sustainability of the ecosystem, we have planted hundreds of trees for the Company’s Creating Shared Value program.

In addition to reforestation, the trees we have planted are also expected to support the economic sustainability of the communities living around the Company’s location in Mojokerto.

We chose productive mango trees to plant, so that they can produce high quality fruits. Later, the mangoes can be consumed by the local people or sold for additional income.

In addition, we have implemented good waste management and encouraged our employees to reuse, recycle and repurpose. We have also started to make our production activities more environmentally friendly by switching to solar panels from fossil fuels to supply some of our energy needs.
