Surabaya, September 10, 2024 – PT Lautan Natural Krimerindo (LNK), a renowned Indonesian producer of food and beverage ingredients known for its flagship product, FiberCreme, has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly business practices. The subsidiary of PT Lautan Luas Tbk. has inaugurated the installation of 1,416 solar panels with a capacity of 635 kW at its factory in Mojokerto, East Java, as part of its ongoing efforts to support clean energy in Indonesia.
In his speech, Rendy Herdijanto, Head of Energy at the East Java Energy and Mineral Resources Department (ESDM), commended PT Lautan Natural Krimerindo for this strategic move. The company’s efforts to increase the use of renewable energy align with East Java’s energy transition and energy mix targets of 17.09% by 2025 and 19.56% by 2050. For 2023, East Java’s renewable energy target was set at 6.55%, yet actual results have exceeded expectations, reaching 9.96%.
“We greatly appreciate PT Lautan Natural Krimerindo for being a pioneer in the industrial sector’s use of renewable energy. This initiative not only supports the government’s target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions but also accelerates Indonesia’s journey toward achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2060,” Rendy stated.
Rendy also emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and the private sector in addressing the challenges of climate change. “Such collaborations are key in our global efforts to mitigate the impact of climate change and create a greener future,” he added.
CEO of PT Lautan Natural Krimerindo, Hendrik Gunawan, highlighted that the solar panel installation is part of the company’s long-term strategy to support the government’s agenda. “This solar panel installation is expected to contribute nearly 30% of our energy needs while reducing CO2 emissions by up to 1,200 tons per year, equivalent to planting more than 14,000 trees,” Hendrik explained.
“We are committed to continually integrating responsible business practices, supporting the transition to renewable energy, and preserving environmental sustainability in Indonesia,” he added.

This latest achievement complements LNK’s previous accomplishment of receiving the Blue PROPER award in 2022 from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, recognizing companies with good environmental performance that comply with regulations and implement sustainable business practices.
For the solar panel project, LNK partnered with Xurya Daya Indonesia (Xurya), a company providing comprehensive solar energy solutions for the commercial and industrial sectors. Xurya contributed to and took direct responsibility for the financing options, technical design, installation, operation, and maintenance of the solar power system at LNK’s factory. Xurya will continue to assist LNK in operating and maintaining the system for over 20 years.
Eka Himawan, Managing Director of Xurya, praised LNK’s efforts in contributing directly to the adoption of renewable energy in Indonesia. Eka remarked, “Unfortunately, only a few companies in Indonesia have integrated environmental preservation initiatives into their operations, such as adopting rooftop solar power systems. This is a win-win solution. Thus, LNK is one of the pioneers of environmentally friendly businesses in the country, and I hope their initiative will inspire other businesses to transition to renewable energy and engage in more sustainable practices. We are honored to have been chosen as the partner for this solar power project.”
LNK emphasized that this solar panel project is part of its Energy Management Program, which also supports the company’s sustainability pillars. Previously, LNK had undertaken various environmental initiatives, such as optimizing digital transformation for machine efficiency and energy performance, as well as developing the use of energy recovery in production processes. Additionally, LNK has planted 1,400 trees in the Mojokerto area and improved water management by enhancing water quality in production processes.
Through these actions, PT Lautan Natural Krimerindo demonstrates its commitment not only to being a leader in business but also to leading environmental sustainability practices in Indonesia.
