As supply chain and logistics continue to evolve alongside technology and growing demands for efficiency, industry exposure is becoming increasingly important in understanding how these concepts work in practice. Recognizing the value of connecting knowledge with real-world experience, the Institut Supply Chain & Logistic Indonesia brought participants of its CAMP 2026 to PT Lautan Natural Krimerindo (LNK) on August 26, 2026.

The visit brought together students, lecturers, professors, and industry practitioners for an opportunity to explore how supply chain, manufacturing, and operational processes are interconnected within a real industrial environment. Through a factory and warehouse tour, participants gained firsthand insight into how materials and products move through different stages of the business, as well as the coordination required across functions such as production, quality, warehousing, and logistics.

Bertha Maya Sopha, Chairwoman of the Institut Supply Chain & Logistic Indonesia, highlighted the value of experiencing these processes directly.

“We had the chance to tour the factory and explore the logistics facilities, which gave us a closer look at how supply chain and logistics are implemented in a real industry setting.”

The visit also featured a product demonstration, giving participants the opportunity to see how LNK’s products are used in different applications and experience the results firsthand. The hands-on session added another dimension to the visit, allowing participants to connect the company’s products with their practical applications.

For Odelia from Brawijaya University, the combination of presentations, discussions, and the warehouse tour made the experience both engaging and insightful.

“Today’s activities were really engaging and insightful. The materials presented were very useful, and the warehouse visit gave us the opportunity to see how the industry works in a real-world setting. The speakers were also very cooperative in answering our questions. We also learned about LNK’s products and had the chance to experience the products firsthand.”

The visit also touched on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its growing relevance to modern industries. Discussions highlighted how AI can support efficiency, data-driven decision-making, automation, and innovation developments that are increasingly shaping the future of supply chain and logistics.

Beyond the tours and discussions, the visit created a space for knowledge exchange between academic and professional communities. Students and academics could gain practical context for concepts studied in the classroom, while industry practitioners could share insights based on their experience in the field. The experience will also continue beyond the visit, with LNK supporting students through assignments based on what they learned during the program.

For LNK, the engagement provided an opportunity to connect with the wider supply chain and logistics community while contributing to meaningful industry-academia collaboration. By opening its operational environment to students, academics, and practitioners, LNK supports opportunities for participants to gain a closer understanding of how manufacturing and supply chain processes work in practice.
