Factory visits often bring to mind production lines and manufacturing processes. However, a successful manufacturing company is built on far more than what happens on the factory floor. With this in mind, PT Lautan Natural Krimerindo (LNK) welcomed Master of Management students from Universitas Surabaya (UBAYA) on July 30, 2026.
Unlike the undergraduate students who commonly participate in factory visits, these postgraduate students arrived with prior academic knowledge and professional experience, making the visit an opportunity to explore not only manufacturing operations but also how functions such as finance, human resources, supply chain, and business strategy work together to drive organizational success.
The visit began with a safety briefing before students were introduced to LNK’s history, business journey, and commitment to innovation in the food ingredients industry. Through the company profile session, participants gained insights into how LNK continues to grow by combining product innovation, operational excellence, and a strong commitment to quality.
Rather than focusing solely on manufacturing, the visit provided a holistic view of the business behind the products. Through knowledge-sharing sessions with LNK professionals, participants explored LNK’s product portfolio, discussed the role of taxation in supporting business sustainability, and learned how industrial relations and human resource management contribute to organizational success. A hands-on barista session added another dimension to the experience, allowing students to see how LNK’s ingredients are transformed into beverages enjoyed by consumers every day.

The experience continued with a guided tour of LNK’s warehouse facilities, offering students a closer look at the operational side of the business. Participants observed how automation technology supports daily warehouse activities and learned how the First In, First Out (FIFO) inventory system helps ensure organized stock management and efficient product distribution. The tour highlighted that behind every finished product is a well-coordinated logistics system that keeps operations running smoothly.
What made the visit especially engaging was the two-way discussion between students and LNK professionals. With many participants already bringing workplace experience into their postgraduate studies, conversations naturally extended beyond curiosity about manufacturing.
Yuliani Diah Kusnawati, Head of the Master’s Program in Management at Universitas Surabaya expressed appreciation for the opportunity.
“We are very pleased with today’s visit because it gave us a comprehensive understanding of the company’s business processes and day-to-day operations. We also had the chance to tour the raw material storage facilities and observe the production process, which provided us with many valuable insights. I am confident that this visit has been highly beneficial for our students as well as for all of us. I hope more people will be inspired to visit LNK in the future. In addition, the company’s products are truly beneficial, as they are developed with a strong focus on health and well-being. Thank you.”

Through its Factory Visit program, PT Lautan Natural Krimerindo continues to strengthen partnerships with educational institutions by providing meaningful learning experiences that bridge academic knowledge with industry practices. Guided by its Bettering Your World spirit, LNK believes that investing in future business leaders today contributes to building a stronger and more innovative industry tomorrow.
